CTC (Cost to Company)

Finance

CTC (Cost to Company) is the total your employer spends on you each year. It includes your basic salary, allowances, employer PF contribution, gratuity accrual, insurance and other benefits — not just what lands in your bank.

The journey from CTC to in-hand salary:

  1. Subtract employer PF (12% of basic, up to the ₹15,000/month wage cap) and gratuity accrual to get gross salary.
  2. Subtract employee PF, professional tax (~₹200/month) and income tax from gross.
  3. Divide by 12 for the monthly in-hand figure.
